Write about what you are thankful for.

 Prompt Response: I am thankful for my family and friends. My parents have made unbelievable sacrifices for me and my siblings. My friends are always there when I need them. I am also thankful for my teachers for teaching me daily. Without them the world would not go around. Summary: Today in class we finished up our presentation. Reflection: Class today was fun. I finished my part of the project and made my recordings. I can't wait to have a fun thanksgiving break.

Write about a truth you were afraid to accept.

 Prompt Response: I was afraid to accept I won't become a NBA player. I always thought I was amazing at basketball, but after freshman year, I knew this sport was no longer for me. Everyone kept growing and developing. Sadly I wasn't gonna be basketball size. There were also 14 year old kids doing all types of dunks, so then I knew this sport was no longer for me. Summary: Today we attempted to finish our project, but we were cut short due to a power outage. Reflection: Class today was crazy. I was looking forward to finishing my project today, but the power at school and the neighborhoods went out.

Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

 Prompt Response: An adventure I would like to go on is climbing Mt. Everest. It would be cool to say you climbed the biggest mountain on the world. I know the risk is very high, but saying you climbed the mountain is a proud thing. You only live once so I believe you should do a lot of dangerous things. Maybe one day I climb it. Summary: In class we worked on our project. Reflection: We started our slides and everyone knows their role. The reading was crazy to see how the father went from a proud dad to despising his son.

Describe something you will never fully understand.

 Prompt Response: Something that I will never understand is politics. I am not too big on politics, and I don't know how it works. I believe we should all be respectful of each other politics not matter the side we believe in. Instead of being separate we should all come together. Politics destroys friendships and that is sad to see. Summary: Today in class we started our Project. Reflection: Today we read "A Devoted Son" by Anita Desai. My group also started our presentation on the project linked with the reading.

Write about something that you wish you had more of.

 Prompt Response: I wish I had more of a killer mentality in me. There are times where I let too many things slide. In addition, I feel as if I come off too kind. There are times where I should put my foot down and not let people walk over me. I know how to move from now on though. Summary: Today in class we learned about population in India. Reflection: India is the most populated country as of today. As there population increases, China's population is slowly decreasing.

Describe when you had a moment of unexpected kindness.

 Prompt Response: A time when I had a moment of unexpected kindness was when I made my first friend at Lakeside. I just transferred into my new class and they were doing a group assignment. My teacher forgot to place me in a group so a random boy invited me to his group. He introduced himself and introduced me to the rest of my group mates. I won't forget this because I was lonely and I made my first set of friends. Summary: Today in class we learned about colorism in India. Reflection: In class we read about the problem of colorism in India. After our reading we answered discussion questions to help us get a better understanding of colorism in India. The media, ads, and families help influence people to think fair skin has more beauty than dark skin.

Write about a feeling that took you by surprise.

 Prompt Response: A feeling that took me by surprise was seeing my old friends from middle school after the covid lockdown. Everyone got taller and looker different. People with low haircuts had longer hair. It also looked like a couple of people were working out a lot more too. This surprised me seeing how much time can change a person. Summary: Today in class we learned about open defecation. In India open defecation is a big thing. Reflection: Open defecation is a big thing in India. Some people choose to do so due to it being comfortable to them. Also people have limited access to restrooms, so they have no choice but to do it in public.

Describe a time when you felt completely lost.

 Prompt Response: A time I felt completely lost was my first day at Lakeside. It was a weird transition from a private school to a public school. My first day I was surprised seeing the diversity at the school. I was new, so I was lonely and had nobody to talk to. Overall I am happy to be here. Summary: Today in class we did questions 1-7 on Indian culture Reflection: Today in class I learned more about Indian culture. The questions helped me learn a deeper understanding on Indian culture.

Prompt: Write about a place you never wanted to leave. Prompt Response: I was on top of Stone Mountain as the sun was falling. The sight was so beautiful. I feel as if I could have stayed there forever. The weather was also perfect with a cool breeze. The sky had an orange color that made me feel warm. Summary: Today in class we learned about Indian culture. Reflection: Today I learned that in India, wobbling their head is a big way of communication for them. In addition, eating with your hand is apart of their culture.
